The moon was full, the only light that shone cast it's glow over the two figures pressed against a tree in the graveyard. They seemed to be struggling. Edward lept the fence as his eyes came to rest on the two figures, one whom was quite obviously in pain. Golden irisis widening in shock and despair, he came to relization of who it was that was in pain. No! Edward watched as the man pressed a thin-bladed knife, ever so slowly and stealithy against Alphonse's flesh, leaving Edward staring in disbelief. He reached underneath the long, brown coat he was wearing and withdrew a metal firearm, holding it at the man who was restraining his victim, holding his arms behind his back, the knife at the boy's throat.
"NO DON'T!" cried out the alchemist as he watched blood seep from the small, thin, inch-long cut the knife had produced, from Alphonse's neck. Edward continued to hold the gun shakily in his hand, tears of fear and anger were threatening and burning the backs of his amber eyes now.
"Put down the gun, Edward and your brother won't have to endure anymore pain," taunted the man, who's face was hidden underneath a black cloak. Edward still wasn't sure who this person was, but no way in hell was he going to allow him to kill his younger brother.
"And what do you mean by won't have to endure anymore pain?!" shouted Edward. "How do I know that the moment I put down this gun, you won't slice Al's throat?!" he continued, nearly screaming himself hoarse.
The hidden figure just laughed sinisterly while Alphonse stared back with wide eyes, into Edward's tear-filled golden orbs. Al slowly shook his head, his brown orbs widening, trying to keep from the knife further harming his throat. He mouthed the words 'brother, no' to Edward, but Ed just gritted his teeth together, his breath coming in heavy gasps.
"Brother...please," pleaded Alphonse but in a much more calm manner. "Put the gun down. I'll be fine. It's not worth getting yourself killed over too."
"Yes, that's right Edward, listen to your little brother. He speaks the words of truth," replied the unknown man as he continued to hold Alphonse's hands behind his back and the knife a few inches from the boy's throat.
"I'm not putting this gun down until you let go of my little brother," Edward growled, still continuing to hold the gun, shaking with the fear that either way, dropping the gun or not, Al could still possibly be killed.
"And then what will you do if I release the boy?" the shrouded man questioned. "How do I know the moment I let go of this boy, you won't shoot?" He stared Edward down who was striving to see what was underneath the hood, but he was completely shrouded in darkness and Edward didn't recognize the man's voice either. Who in the hell was he? What did he want with him and his brother? Edward didn't reply, just continued to hold the gun towards the cloaked being, trembling with fear and rage.
"I won't shoot, just please...," Edward pleaded through clenched teeth. "Don't kill my little brother. We've worked too hard to get him back to where he is now. I don't know what you want, but if you'll let Al go, you can have me instead."
"Brother no! I won't let you!" Alphonse screamed, as he tried lurching towards Edward and he only felt the knife pierce even more into the side of his neck. Alphonse let out a quick scream and stopped struggling.
"ALPHONSE DON'T MOVE!" cried out Ed as he began advancing towards the two.
"Give me what I want and the boy goes free," hissed the cloaked man, removing the knife from Alphonse's bleeding neck.
Edward couldn't hold back the tears that escaped now and he began running towards Alphonse, gun held at the ready...
~~~~ I always love having a minor story to go with my drawings ^_^ such fun! That wasn't anything in particular and I don't know who the man is in the cloak or what he wants just use your imagination. Enjoy!
Dude, Ed with a pistol!!! My life is complete. ^-^ I really (!!) appreciate how accurately you depict his facial structure. It's so rare to find an excellent version like this. Love it. (Now I'm curious about the story that goes behind it...)
This was very dramatic and intence, lol almost liek all your pictures are, but it was well written and drawn, and had a good scence of drama and intencity.
I'm the same way. If a deviation inspires me, I can make up some little thing right on the spot. Occasionally, my inspiration will turn into a full fledged story.
